Trump To Examine Accused Navy Sailor
A Navy sailor who was convicted of “taking photos of classified areas of the submarine USS Alexandria” where he unsuccessfully used the Hillary defense to try and save himself.
The sailor, Kristian Saucier, was sentenced to one year in prison last August for taking these photos back in 2009. At the time, when he was 22, he was serving as a machinist mate.
Who were the photos meant for?
Unknown Intentions For The Photos
The photos were only meant to show his family what kind of work he was involved with. The propulsion system and reactor compartment photos were actually later destroyed by the FBI during the investigation.
Michael Flynn, the national security advisor, suggested for Saucier’s lawyer to ask for a pardon from President Trump.
Authorities were not able to confirm as to whether or not the sailor sent the photos to anyone before the devices were destroyed.
The “Hillary Clinton” Defense
Saucier’s defense team referred to Hillary Clinton’s classified email case, since Clinton was able to evade prosecution after the FBI couldn’t confirm that there was any intentionally misused information as part of her private email backup server.
Obviously, President Trump could go either way on this issue. Either he will confirm that the case is no different than the email server, so if Hillary got away, then why not Saucier?
Or, he’ll use it as an example as to how Hillary got away with this due to her status, but any average American would be sent to jail. Trump also believes that Hillary Clinton should be in jail.
Does the Hillary defense only work for Hillary?
